Moving Home (Fee Free Mortgages)

Many of us balk at the thought of paying a mortgage broker fee when we regard we could avoid paying this by applying for a mortgage directly to the lender. But not all brokers charge fees and those that do will always explain how much the fee will be and what it is they are charging for. At no stage are you under any obligation to pay this fee if you choose not to take the advice of the broker concerned or regard that the fees are too high.

To speak to an independent FSA (Financial Services Authority) regulated mortgage advisor now complete our no obligation enquiry form below. This service is completely free and your personal broker is under obligation to give you 'best advice' depending on your circumstances and requirements. Your personal independent broker may suggest other mortgage products to you that you may be unaware of.

Why paying an independent broker a small fee could save you money! Witness the Northern Rock situation.

However, if a mortgage advisor is charging a fee it may be worth considering whether you regard s/he has earnt that fee. The advisor will research the whole market for you to find you the best mortgage deal available for your circumstances and will identify any charges the lender may levy (including future redemption penalties) that may not be apparent to you. Also, the broker may contact you about other money saving offers available in the future. If you go directly to a lender that lender will only ever inform you of their own products which may not necessarily be the best on the market.

Many advisors will take pride in saving you money, and will rely on your future returning business and any referrals you may pass to them. Quite often, reluctance to pay a relatively modest fee can be a barrier to you saving money in the long term by allowing an expert, on your behalf, to inspect the product you are considering buying. Consider it no different to paying an AA or RAC mechanic a set fixed fee to inspect a car you are considering buying for that peace of mind. The mechanic, more often than not, will probably recoup his fee for you by negotiating a better deal on the car purchase! In the same way an independent advisor, in all likelihood, will achieve the same in saving you money as s/he will identify any hidden charges you may not have been aware of.
